I have always been fascinated by how we're all drawn to that final sliver of land that separates us from the ocean's horizon and the unknown.

During the late 90s, I created a portfolio focusing on this theme. Thanks to my friend Giorgio Forni, it was subsequently exhibited in European, Asian, and North African countries at their respective Italian Cultural Institutes.

Last summer, in the Netherlands, the idea was born to compile this new volume featuring archival shots enriched by the past 25 years of production.

In spiaggia (On the Beach) aims to interpret, sometimes ironically, the aforementioned yearning. Then Spiagge (the Beaches), deserted by people and inhabited by crabs, birds, starfish, monkeys. So, the magic of lighthouses and the charm of beach huts, boats and fishing, the houses - black in Northern Europe and white in the South.

To conclude this journey and the book, five shots are dedicated to the end. These images feature places of prayer for different religions, secular remembrances of affection and memory, and also commemorate those who crossed in reverse the line between land and sea at Omaha Beach.

I hope and I wish that these images will lead you to travel with curiosity and fun, as I did.
